Vacation Take Two

The next day we left Asheboro and headed west. Our destination was Bryson City. But we took our time and we stopped in Asheville and did a little sight seeing and shopping. We couldn't find a hotel that we liked in Bryson City, so we drove on past into Cherokee. This was a very unique place as its home to a lot of Cherokee Native American tribes. There were tons of shops with home-made moccasins, leather goods, pipes, bows and arrows, and candies. One shop in particular had a stage in front of it in which the natives would do tribal dances and things.

As we were visiting we came across a small Cherokee zoo, which advertised that you could feed bears. So away we went and we're glad we did. As we entered and the girl handed us food, she told us to be sure and hold the food up before you threw it to them and they would do tricks. Well this one bear was especially entertaining. He would sit up straight and clap his paws everytime we walked by.

This black bear just put his paws together like he was praying for a treat.
 These were lazy bears...
They had some lemurs there too
and this white tiger that was eating chicken. I am not sure how many chickens,
but he kept pulling out pieces from his cave!
They also had goats that you could feed and pet. There was one little one that caught our attention, because he was obviously the runt that never got any food. He reminded us of our little Runtley back home.

 Bradley feeding Runtley...
You can see here why he was the runt, here he is with the other goats when we were trying to get him seperated so we could feed him.
Runtley had a full tummy when we left.
They had a putt-putt course there so we did that too.

After that we went and ate dinner at a really nice buffet and then called it a day to get ready for the big event on Thursday.
