Halloween and Mobsters...

Halloween 2012 proved to be a COLD one. It was only in the 40's that day and windy. Luckily, the wind died down somewhat around trick-or-treat time and we strolled through our night of visiting and insane amount of candy getting.

This year, we had Indiana Jones and Jake the pirate.....
I wanted to get Runtley a costume, but just never did. He just went as his cute self.

We snapped pictures fairly quickly because of the cold, and went about making merry through the county.

The Sunday before Halloween, we had "Another Era" Sunday at church as part of our fall program. Where we were supposed to dress from another era. Wes chose to be a mobster-boss from the 1920's. He fit the part a little too easily and I thought he looked great! So I chose to be...a mobster-boss' wife! (I am SOOO creative!!!).
I had about an inch-thick layer of eye make-up on and a can of hairspray. I wish I would have gotten closer pics of my hair because I spent forever on it. From the movies we have seen mobsters were always dressed to the max, and their wives have jewelry hanging from everywhere. I wanted a fur coat to wear and a hat, but couldn't find either.

Our church friends began calling us Bonnie and Clyde and we had such a good time with everyone dressed up.

Here are a few of our junior church kids...
The kids really enjoyed dressing up too and during our service Wes was able to tie in a history lesson with the era's that everyone was dressed from and what happened in our country during those periods. It was a really fun day.
