Saturday evening we went to downtown Gatlinburg and walked around some. Came back to the cabin and grilled some steaks and corn on the cob and relaxed. Sunday morning we went to church at Laurel Branch Baptist. It was real close to our cabin and Wes and I both just had a wonderful experience there. The people were so friendly and welcoming, it was a small church where we participated in the lessons and they even invited Bradley to sing with the kids and he did and belted out Jesus Loves Me!
After church and lunch we hit the outlet malls for the afternoon. We found a few good deals but it was crowded and very hot, and stormed quite a bit. We prayed that the rain would stop because we had tickets to the Tenn. Smokies baseball game that evening that we were excited about. God answered our prayers and we had a beautiful evening at the ball park and a great time.
It was a family fun night and Wes got the boys tickets for the funzone they called it. They had bouncy houses and slides and all sorts of things.
We had great seats on the front row right behind 3rd base. The opposing team, the Montgomery Biscuits (ha ha), was warming up their pitchers almost right in front of us. After the pitcher warmed up, Trevor asked for the ball and the catcher tossed it to him! Trevor was ecstatic.
It was a really fun time that all of us enjoyed.
On Monday, we hung out at the cabin and then we went fishing. I even joined in on it and caught two trout. Which was one more than Wes caught I might add.
After I caught the first fish, I lost my worm and Wes had gone way up the river. I talked myself into baiting my own hook. I apologized to the worm for cutting him, as I squeemishly put him on my hook. But I did it. I was so proud I took a picture of him.
Then I caught the second fish and had to take him off the hook myself. I think I am ready for my own nature survival show now.
We came home on Tuesday after a little more shopping. We spent the rest of the week at home. We did some odd jobs around the house, celebrated the 4th at home with some fireworks and spent time at the pool every day. This was my favorite vacation ever. We had great quality family time, and relaxed. Wes and I were both so refreshed and rejuvenated.
