Weekend Wrap Up

Well the 5 inches of snow that we got Thursday evening was the quickest to fall and the quickest to leave! It was in the 60's on Friday and by Friday evening, just about all of it was gone! It left everything very wet, soppy, and muddy. Friday evening we had a family night out of a little shopping, and to eat at the Pizza Inn buffet.
Saturday I had music practice at church and Bradley tagged along with me while Trevor and Wes went out and about a little bit. That afternoon Trevor had baseball practice, the field was so muddy and mushy. They got a good practice in though, oh and the highlight of that was I got hit in the side with a baseball. That was fun and I have the bruise to prove it.
Saturday evening it was so warm and pretty out. We decided to go back in the woods behind our house to our little hideaway.  There is a pond back there and Wes built us a fire pit. We spent a lot of evenings back there last summer and it was exciting to finally have our first trip back there this year. It is like an oasis for us. You can't hear anything but nature, peep frogs, birds, and insects. The boys run and play in the woods and the pond. Wes starts a fire and we got a good start on getting it raked and cleaned up for the year.  We fixed hot dogs over the fire and had a great evening together.

The pond was really up from all the snow melting.
Trevor LOVES playing in the fire.
Runtley loves hearing all the birds and running around too.

Once the pond goes back down, the boys and Wes will be doing lots of fishing off the dock. Wes built this dock himself. He is quite the carpenter! It will be much prettier when everything turns green again.
Sunday was of course church day. It was Missions Sunday and we had a great day listening to our guest speakers and hearing their stories. We had some yummy grilled steaks for lunch, the boys played with bubbles on the deck, and we relaxed until it was time to go back for evening services. It was a great weekend but it went by too fast!!
