I am going back and posting this late because I will never forget the day and I want to make sure I have all of the details wrote down. This past Sunday after church Bradley was talking to me about having Jesus in his heart. He said Ms. Debbie said Jesus comes in our heart and we go to heaven. I talked with him about it a little bit, trying to explain that Jesus isn't already in our hearts, we have to ask Him to come into our hearts and forgive us and save us. We talked a little bit more, I didn't want to push anything on him, just casually talking. I didn't want it to be my influence as his mother for him wanting to do anything, I wanted it to be from his little heart.
Well, the rest of the day came and went and Monday and Tuesday of that week came and went as well like normal, it wasn't mentioned anymore. Wednesday evening, we had finished dinner and I was in the kitchen cleaning up dishes and Bradley comes into the kitchen and says "Hey mommy, I want you to help me pray and ask Jesus to come into my heart". Completely out of the blue. I was blown away. So we went back in our bedroom and I explained to him how Jesus died on the cross for us and rose again so that we can go to heaven with Him, and all we have to do is believe in Him, ask Him to forgive us of our sins and come into our hearts and we can be saved and know that we are His children and will see Him one day in Heaven. Following that conversation I led my son to the Lord. He bowed his little head and asked Jesus to come into his heart and save him. It was one of the sweetest moments I have ever experienced.
He ran thru the house telling Daddy and Trevor that he got saved. We went to church that evening and the first thing he did was run up to our pastor and tell him that he asked Jesus to come into his heart. He then proceeded to tell anyone that would listen! Our whole church was rejoicing, it was the sweetest evening. Later we realized that Bradley got saved when he was 4 years old, on the date 4-4-12. So 4-4 will always be a special day for our family!
I can say as a mother, there is nothing and I mean NOTHING sweeter than seeing your child accept Christ. I feel so blessed to be able to say I have seen both of my children accept the Lord and thank the Lord for it daily.
